Snap, camera, basics

When you first get a camera the first thing you want to do is get out and start taking photographs. However, you do have to know the basics, although most are just common sense.

So here is my 'How to... Do the basics with a camera'...

I use this camera: Nikon Coolpix L830 as well as my iPhone 4

1. Charge your camera!
You will most likely have to charge your camera before you do anything or add batteries. Make sure you have spare batteries in your camera case so it doesn't run out at the perfect moment.

2. Make sure you have read the instructions!
Common sense, I know but I bet somewhere in the world someone hasn't and once or twice I am that person and have zero clue how to work the thing.
So by reading the instructions then you have a better understanding of your camera, how to use it and to make sure you get the most out of it. Simples!

3. Before taking photos!
Before you take any photographs, make sure that the camera is in focus. You don't want a blurry pictures, do you! Make sure you are on the correct setting for it.
You don't want to be on a night mode whilst you are taking photos during the day or it being wayyyy to light, apparently the best time of the day to take pictures is dawn and dusk. The worst time is when the sun is at its highest.

4. Get the most out of it!
Use different angles, different photograph filters. By doing this, you are 1) getting to know your camera and its features and 2) you may find a filter that suits one photograph etc therefore get a better understanding of what setting works better in different situations.

Well that is it, basic I know but sometimes some people forget!
Until next time
