Easter Mini Eggs treat

Ahhh Easter, the time where daffodils are in full bloom, the sun is shining and I am filling my face with as much chocolate eggs as humanly possible. And its only like two weeks away wooooooooo!

Today's post is definitely one for you chocoholics like moi! I found this Mini Eggs treat recipe on my Facebook news feed and my golly gosh, when I saw it, I knew I had to make it! The recipe is by Anthony Watson, taken from his Facebook page!

Let us being with this delicious Easter treat...
This recipe is from Anthony Watson, no copyright intended.

What you will need:

- 1 small baking tin that will hold about 1kilo (35oz) lined with grease proof paper
-100g (3.50z) of unsalted butter
- 225g (8oz) of good quality chocolate. I used milk but dark is fine
- 20g (1oz, or about 2 tbsp.) of golden syrup
- 15g (0.5oz/ 1tbsp) of cocoa powder
- 200g (1oz) of mini eggs
- 50g (0.5oz) of mini marshmallows
- 100g (1oz) of biscuits of your choice

I also added some Cadbury's buttons in too because why the hell not?!

What to do now:

-Melt the butter and chocolate together, either in the microwave for a minute at a time, stirring together between blasts till the mix comes together, or in a bowl over a pan containing a small amount of simmering hot water.
- Add the cocoa powder and syrup, mix together until its clear of any lumps and powder then leave to cool for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Break up the biscuits to smaller pieces and stir into the mix.
- Add the mini marshmallows and mini eggs/any other ingredients then mix in. If the mix is too hot the marshmallows will start to melt so be quick.
-Place into the fridge until set or put in the freezer for about 15 minutes.
- Cut it up into pieces and enjoy!

And the finished tasty treat...

I love how simple these are to make, perfect if you love making something or if you have little ones!
The crunchiness of the mini eggs and biscuits to the softness of the marshmallows and chocolate buttons, there is a lot of different textures in one bite but it tastes sooooooooooo goooooooooooood!
You could also add/swap other ingredients in, for example cherries, dried fruit, raisins, honeycomb.
Now, you cannot have a lot of these as with all the chocolatey goodness in it, it is quite a rich treat.
However, with a cuppa or a glass of orange juice, these are great for a sunny Easter's day!

Well there you have it, a choccy treat for all you Easter chocoholics!
Until next time
