2016 was my year

Well here we are, the last day of 2016, Saturday 31st December! It feels like it should be April and that I should be at uni still! This year has honestly flown by!

These past 12 months have had its ups and downs, a rollercoaster of a ride, but even though there have been some really low points, I have made even more happier memories that will stay with me forever. Cliché, I know!

Like last year, I have picked out some of the highlights I have had and there were so many but these in particular stood out for me!

One of the highlights in the main photograph above but I have came up with six more things that has made 2016 one of the best years of my life so far!

So here is '2016 was my year'...

My Weird Hobby, a catch up

Earlier this year I shared with you my weird hobby. I collect coins. I am a coin collector. Since I had such a lovely response to the post, I have decided to give you all a little bit of an update with how my collection is going so far. A catch up basically.

In July, when I published the first post, I had £28 worth of coooooool coins, in a mixture of 50ps, £1s and £2s. Well it is safe to say, it has definitely grown as now I have over a whopping £50. £58 to be precise. I think I have included them all in here but if I haven't then sorryyyyyy!

I know, I know, it is getting out of hand but I just cannot help myself! I even have my family and friends looking for me still, oh dear!

So here is 'My Weird Hobby, a catch up'...

The Music of 2016

Gosh, the final week of 2016, can you believe it? These (almost) 365 days have just flown by and during them, we have had some good music to say the least. A few bad but mainly it has been such a fab year for music, well in my opinion and the songs that I like haha!

Due to this, I have picked one song that was in the top 40 UK charts for each month. Believe me, it was a hard chose for some of them as they were a few I loved from that month but I did finally manage to whittle it down!

So here is 'The Music of 2016'...

Other blogger's Blogmas post I've been loving

Not long now until Christmas day and I cannot believe it is the 23rd already! Time goes fast when you are having fun!

That means we have had 23 whole days of Blogmas posts, not just from me, but from quite a few other bloggers as well!

Due to this and the fact it is Christmas so it is the time to spread happiness and love, I have made a list of these six Blogmas posts that other bloggers have published! I had to whittle it down to six because there were too many of them so I gave myself six as the limit!

A festive day trip to London

On Saturday 17th December, my mother and I went on a mission to the UK's capital city to see a Christmas tree. Yes, we went to London for a day. My mum has wanted to see the tree in Trafalgar Square for some time now and we just haven't had the chance but because I had finished uni and had no job when we booked the trip, we were all for it! I mean who wouldn't be?!? London at Christmas, yes please!!!!

Shame the Christmas tree looked a bit crappy but it gave us a laugh and we had such a fun, festive day in this winter wonderland of a city!

I thought I would share my photos I captured of the magical Christmassy decorations and what we did. A little photograph based guide of how to spend a day in London at Christmas time!

This Time Next Year Tag

It is crazy to think that we only have a couple more weeks to go until 2016 is over. This year has definitely been a rollercoaster but I wouldn't change it for the world. But what about next year?

Still cannot quite believe it is going to be 2017, I feel like I still should be at secondary school (although thank god I'm not as those were hard times and I hate them). I was thankful to be nominated to do this 'This Time Next Year' tag by the lovely Claire, from That Mumma Rocks, as this has made me think about what my goals are for the next 12 months.

Must watch Christmas TV

Let's face it, Christmas TV is the best TV. Festive films on 24/7, repeats of your favourite shows and of course, Christmas specials! The latter one being my favourite as well known and truly loved TV shows give us one (or a couple/few) special episode to eat our Terry's Chocolate Orange and drink our hot chocolates to.

This year is no different and I have came up with these six tv shows that have a festive special(s) to gaze our eyes upon.

Pimms and Needles Christmas Hampers

Last night was my Pimms and Needles meeting and this one was all about them Christmas hampers we see everywhere at this time of year.

From a mixture of little stores we can purchase goods at to the materials we need to create our hampers, it definitely was a night full of festive cheer! The only thing missing was that Christmassy music but it is safe to say we were all getting into the spirit of Christmas for sure!

Three films to watch every Christmas

Most people have Christmas traditions. Whether it is putting up and taking down Christmas decorations on a certain day, everyone going to a place on the big day or sitting down and watching certain Christmas films with the family whilst eating a box of chocolates and drinking hot chocolate.

I do the latter. You cannot beat a good Christmas film marathon so I have came up with three of my favourites and given you a little review of them! Most likely you have seen them but if you haven't, where have you been?!?!?!?!?!

Opening my Beauty Advent Calendar (Week One)

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram then you would have seen this picture below. Yes, it is my beauty advent calendar and this is my first ever one and I am sooooooooo excited about it. Now, I work for M&S and this is their 25 day Christmas tree treat filled with, well, 25 amazing products. Basically, it their take on the ever so popular beauty advent calendar that a lot of shops seems to be doing now! You know what they say, a treat a day makes the doctor go away (haha)!

I actually won this at work as we had some left over from the shop floor and work put on a raffle. I think there were 90ish advent calendars and there was a lot of us who put our names down for them so they pulled names out of a hat or something and I was picked! I WAS SO HAPPY AS I REALLY WANTED ONE AND I NEVER WIN ANYTHING WOOOOOOOO!

I thought since it is my first ever beauty calendar, I would post what I got goodies I got in it each week, here is the first six (yes, I know there are seven days in a week but I like to be different- and I forgot to include the seventh item oops)

So here is 'Blogmas| Opening my Beauty Advent Calendar (Week One)'...

A Christmas bedroom tour

If there is one thing I love most about Christmas, it is decorating the house, including my bedroom. I have done this for years now and even though I am 22, I am not going to stop making my room into a wintery wonderland!

Because of this, I thought it would be cute to take you on a little festive bedroom tour, just as a short photograph based post for Blogmas!

A funky festive party top

The festive season is also the party season, where we go to work dos and go out to celebrate with friends and family. Due to this, I wanted to see if I could find a clothing item that I could wear for many but can style it differently for all.

And this is where this pretty embroidered top comes in. I am also going to London for a day trip on the 17th so I will probably wear it for that as well but I thought I would share my floral find with you for Blogmas.

The Christmas Tag

I love Christmas. I mean, it isn't my favourite time of the year, that would be Halloween but I do love it! From the cheesy Christmas songs, to the amazingly bad festive jumpers and lets not even mention the dinner on the big day, you cannot help but enjoy the thrill. Or at least I cant anyway!

When I was tagged in this Christmas related tag by the beautiful Chloe, who runs the fab blog Chloe Tommo, I was buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzing! As I sit on my bed, writing this out, I am listening to a bit of All I Want For Christmas is Youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu because come one, it is a classic!

So here is 'Blogmas| Christmas Tag'...

A playlist for Santa

The Christmas period means two things mainly. One, eating a crap loads of chocolate and second, singing your heart out, whilst doing a little boogie, to them classic Christmas songs.

Because of this, I have came up with these 10 festive songs that just symbolise Christmas for me, perfect for when I am baking or putting up decorations or just having a little song n dance.

Before we get started in this little Christmas party we are about to have, The Pogues will not be included because even though loads of people love it and its their favourite Christmas song, I hate it.

So here is 'Blogmas| A Christmas Playlist'...

A florally winter's jumper

There is nothing better than snuggling up in a lovely winters jumper. Whether it is a Christmassy pattern, a plain one or the one you always grab out from the back of your wardrobe, everyone has that one jumper (or a collection of them) that they always wear during the festive period.

I know I certainly do and this one has definitely been added to that collection.

So here is 'Blogmas| A Winters Jumper'...

Jingle bells bunting

After last months panic of trying to create both my bake and make of the month in the last two days of November, I thought I better get on with planning, preparing and actually making the delicious treat and a cute homemade item for the series! Can you believe that is may be the last Bake and Make post? I did it for my New Years resolution and it is coming to the end of those 12 months! It has gone veryyyyyy quick!

With December obviously being that festive month, both of them are going to be Christmassy themed and first up with have this adorable 'Merry Christmas' bunting. Now this isn't from a craft book, I came up with doing this a couple of nights before and I finished yesterday and here we are!

A cold night's pamper night

With the late, dark and not forgetting very cold nights, it is always nice to treat yourself (or as my friend Loz would say treat yoselfffff) after a long day at work or doing Christmas shopping. A pamper night is always needed at this time of year.

This is a little guide if you want to call it that, for the perfect pamper session for yourself or with friends as well!

Lighting up Christmas again!

I loveeeee lights, I am obsessed with them in fact! There is no better time of year when you can fill all of your house with them than Christmas because you can hang them outside and inside on every furniture you have and of course on your Christmas tree!

Because of my massive Audrey Hepburn framed photo I have on my bureau, I wanted some cute string lights I can put up for the Christmas period. I have normal ones that are up all year, Halloween ones for that spooky day so of course I needed festive ones!

After looking for ages, I found these bargain ones (and I mean an absolute bargain) and well, I had to share them!

I am kicking off my actual Blogmas today with a makeup look that will be fab and easy to do for those Christmas parties we are dragged to, even if we all end up having a blast!

It isn't your usual red and gold shades for the eye makeup though, but a Christmas tree green and a starry gold instead.

Of course I through in some Santa red with the lippy because who doesn't love red lipstick!

Picture this, it is yesterday, I am just chilling on my laptop and then realised that there are only three days left of November. How this year has flown by. I also realised that I hadn't done anything for my Bake and Make series and soon, I panicked.

But here we are, two days left of my birthday month. Todays post is going to be this months make, fab fabric flowers. These are taken from Chloe Owens' All Sewn Up book which I got last year for a Christmas present!

Looking 'flawless' for once

If you follow me on any of my social media accounts (links to which are right at the bottom) then you would have seen me absolutely buzzing of this product. I recently got my first ever wages as couple of weeks ago and well, last week, I decided to treat myself to another Makeup Revolution eye palette.

I already had the Mermaids Forever palette and just fell in loveeeeeeeeee with it so I decided to have a look at their other ones to see if they had the same effect on me. And well, the short answer is yes. One of them certainly did and that one is their Flawless palette.

Due to me trying out a couple of the shades, I thought I would share the look I created, which just so happens to be perfect for autumn as well! But you will have to wait until the end to find out the overall look, oooooooo the anticipation!

Pimms and Needles Wreath Making!

Golly gosh, I haven't done one of these posts in ages! Not because I don't want to because I do but I just haven't had the time to write them out and then take/upload the photos of the event. However, that is about to change because I miss writing about my wonderful Pimms and Needles nights!

Yesterday's event was all a bout door wreath making! This time we were using fern instead willow branches so it was definitely a new experience for me personally. So I thought I would do a short post today to show you how we did made them (not the wreaths themselves as the people who were doing it made them up for us to save time)

My top five favourite films

Who doesn't love a good film night? Getting some popcorn, chilling with friends and family, watching as many films as you possibly can and did I mention the popcorn? I love films, from old classics to more recent ones, I cannot get enough of them!

Over my 22 years of existence I have seen some blockbusters, from Disney's Tangled and the Fast and Furious series to the classic Mary Poppins to all of Marvel's mega franchise, I love a mixture of genres (except horror, ew no) and a lot of actors/actresses.

But five films in particular, I love the most and I thought I would share them with you all!

Time to finally let go

A personal post today but it is a needed one. It is all about letting go to all of the things that is holding me back. All of the anger. All of the insecurities. All of the doubt.

Mini me!
A couple of months ago, I read another blogger's, Claire from Grab Your Camera, post about how she is embracing her mental health and I can honestly say, it made me relived to realise that it isn't just me, when I thought it was just me, even though I knew I wasn't the only one, who had gone through something. I mean I related to all of Claire's fact about me.

Because of her post, I decided to write about my own experiences and finally letting go of them.

So here is 'It is time to finally let go'...

I'm feeling 22

Well today is the day I turn 22. Yes, I too have been singing that Taylor Swift song. After finishing work this morning, I was wondering what to do on my day. My mum was at work and I don't like opening presents on my own, there is no fun in that! So instead I decided to put on some makeup and dance around in my bedroom to my music like every other normal 22 would do.

Due to this, I thought I might as well post the look I went for. Think a fluffy unicorn!

A little life update

First things first, Happy Halloween guys! I hope it is filled with lots of spooky terror and endless amounts of sweets that you cannot move from your bed because hey, who doesn't love free sweets?!

On with todays post now (which actually was suppose to go up yesterday but I was too busy, oops).
Life is a funny old thing isn't it? You never know what is round the corner, it is a mystery. My almost 22 years of living (my birthday is tomorrow yessssss) has seen some incredibly amazing time but also some really dark times.

From graduating twice this year, going on numerous adventures with my mum and finalllly seeing my favourite band, You Me At Six, to learning to deal with my emotions and overcoming them, this year has been a roller coaster but I wouldn't change it for the world. And recently, I have become pretty happy with how life has been treating me!

So here is 'A little life update'...

Halloweeeeeen Spooky jellies!

For this post, I have a spooky treat for you monsters today and it comes in the form of this disgustingly great jellies! This isn't a part of my Bake and Make series, I have done both of them this month so check them out because they are both equally as spooky as this!

Originally I saw a video for this on Tastemade's website but they were fish bowls instead and they looked sooooooooooo awesome. So me being me I was like I neeeed to try these out but I will do a twist on them and make them for my favourite day of the year, 31st October.

They are so simple and so easy to do! They are perfect for if you have little monsters, if you are hosting a Halloween themed party or just want a sweet treat on the frightening day! One thing I will mention before we get started is that if these are for an event then do them the night before. Believe me the more time these creepy jellies have enough time to set, the better!!!

Twilight's got nothing on me

Final Halloween makeup look now and it comes in the form of a blood thirsty vampire! Read the witches look and cat tutorial here)

I swear down I am a vampire. I hate the sun, I like blood (in like tv shows and films etc haha) and bats are my favourite animal. The only thing is that I LOVEEEEEEEEEE garlic so basically I am screwed as a vampire, noooooooo!!!!

Any who, this blood curdling vampire makeup is so easy to do and doesn't take long at all so perfect if you are going out with your little monsters trick or treating or going to a monster mash!

The night I finally saw You Me At Six

As I sit here on my bed typing this post out, I am thinking of a better day/night than Friday night. Of course both of my graduation comes close, days out with my mother and going to see Breakfast at Tiffanys on stage as well. But nothing, NOTHING, can beat Friday 21st October 2016.

That is the day I finally saw my favourite band, You Me At Six, for the first time.

Really happy at how good this photo turned out like yessssss
After 8 years of being a Sixer (that's the fandom name), I got to see Josh, Dan, Chris, Matt and Max perform their new and old songs and IT WAS THE BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE.

Now this is going to be a photo/video based post but in years to come when I might not be blogging anymore, I will still have this post all about that amazingly perfect night. Warning the videos do contain flashing lights and all of that so please bear this in mind if you are going to watch them!

When you wish upon a Disney star

Todays post is all about the magical, superb, utterly perfect Disney. Created by Walt Disney, you have got to love a bit of Disney and well, I thought I would share my favourite things about this hugely popular brand, that everyone loves. Don't lie, you do!!!

From its very first animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, waaaaay back in 1937, to other films we all know and love (Bambi, 1942, Cinderella, 1950, Tangled, 2010, 101 Dalmatians, 1961), there have been film franchises, theme parks built and a lot of tears, plus so much more.

Talking all things Disney!
No negativity in this, just showing my love for them! Although actually, only negative thing I have to say is that I hate Frozen, it is soooooooooooooooooooooooo overrated but there, that is it!

So here is 'When you wish upon a Disney star'...

Ah October. Leaves are falling from the trees, big woolly jumpers are out and of course, the time we stock up on a crap load of sweets for the last day of the month. Halloween!!!!

It is my favourite day of the year, not because it is my birthday afterwards but because I love to dress up, do my makeup and eat soooooo many sweets that I cannot move from my bed.

Due to this, I will be showing you three makeup tutorials, kinda like last year, and today's one is all about them evil witches *cackles*.

So here is 'Halloweeeeeeen Witch Tutorial'...
