A wreath for your door

Day four in my 25 Days of Christmas series and today is all about decoration. Wreath decoration to be precise.

A couple of weeks ago, I made a Christmassy wreath from scratch at my Pimms and Needles meeting and it was so much fun and so simple to do, perfect for a family festive activity.

I will be showing you how to make one of your own for your front door or as an inside addition.

So here is 25 Days of Christmas| Day Four...

What you will need:
-Willow branches (a mixture of sizes)
-a collection of decorations (seed heads, dry flowers, dry fruit, feathers, baubles, holly, ribbon/string, pine cones etc)
- scissors
- thin wires
What is really great about this activity is that you can go to a park or woodland area and go forging for things yourself.
Perfect if you have any children or just love nature like me!

What to do:
1. Take the longest willow branch and create a circle as big as a dinner plate. Wrap the extra willow around itself to create a more sturdy base. Do this with 4 more willow branches but starting it at different points. Cut of any sticky out bits you may have if you cant tuck them in.
2. Take whatever decoration you have and tie it around your wreath base with the wires. So if you have cinnamon, poke the wire through one of the holes and tie it around or with dried fruit fold the wire in half and gently stick it through your chosen fruit. And see your creation come to life!
3. Add your ribbon/string to create a handle if you wish and you are done.
A basic guide, I know but I hope you can follow it as they are super fun to make!
And here is mine...
Drum roll please

There you go! A festive decoration handmade with love.
Keep your eye out tomorrow for day five!
Until next time
