Why you should vote today

So after months and months of campaigns and debates, it is finally the General Election day.
I for one am excited as this is the first one I can vote in.

Many of us will vote on who we want to see run the country for the next 5 years but some wont even use their vote.

Here are reason why you should vote in todays UK General Election.
I will not be putting any of my views on the candidates, this will be completely neutral.

Meet the Candidates:
David Cameron (Conservatives)
Nick Clegg (Liberal Democrats)
Ed Miliband (Labour)
Nigel Farage (UKIP)
Nicola Sturgeon (SNP)
Natalie Bennett (Green Party)
Leanne Wood (Plaid Cymru)

1. People have died for you to have the right to vote.

Take amazing and inspirational people like the Suffragettes  in the early 1900s. They worked constantly for women to have the right to vote. In those days only men were allowed and without them, women may not be able to now. They died so that we can have the vote today.

2. Vote to have your say.

Have your say who has the power to run the UK, whether it being David Cameron, Nick Clegg to Ed Miliband and so on. Use your right to vote to make your voice and opinions heard.

3. Important issues affect you too.

Issues such as the economy, immigration and crime all affect you, your family/friends and your area. By voting today then you are having your say in these important issues and how they will be managed in the next 5 years.

4. Democracy living

We live in a democracy therefore you have the right to vote for whoever you want. Some countries don't do this.

5. Easy and simple to do

You can only vote if you have registered (that's now closed obviously). If you are then all you have to do is go down to your local polling station (you should have received a polling card with that information on) and tell the people there you name and address. Then select the party/candidate you want in power then you are done.

If you are still unsure then click here to view all of the party's policies.

NOTE: Polling Stations close at 10pm TONIGHT!!!

Well there you have it, the Election has come and almost gone for another 5 years.
Is this your first time voting like me?
Until next time
